Title: Pharmacy Businesses and Professions (Public Text Link )
Summary: Authorizes a licensed pharmacist, who successfully completes a course on tobacco cessation therapy, to prescribe and dispense tobacco cessation drug products to a qualified patient pursuant to rules adopted by the board of pharmacy, provides that in order for a willing patient to qualify, he or she must be a certain age, evaluated, and educated in the tobacco cessation products.

Title: Physician and Physician Assistant Collaboration (Public Text Link )
Summary: Would modernize the statutes regulating physician assistants (PAs) by providing for collaboration between physicians and physician assistants, amending the continuing education requirement from ten (10) to twenty-five (25) hours annually, and providing the conditions for which PAs may do charitable work without collaborating with a physician. This act would take effect upon passage.

Summary: Would change various provisions of the laws regarding physician assistants (PAs) to include collaboration with physicians in lieu of supervision, and would also allow licensed physician assistants to volunteer their services at summer camps or public events without the presence of a collaborating physician. The act would also repeal the continuing medical education requirements for physician assistants. This act would take effect upon passage.
