The Center for Health Care Strategies published a report “Behavioral Health Provider Participation in Medicaid Value-Based Payment Models: An Environmental Scan and Policy Considerations.” This report provides an overview of the behavioral health system’s engagement in value-based payment (VBP) in the U.S., with a focus on 11 states, lessons on implementing VBP from the perspective of behavioral health providers and policy recommendations for how state and federal policymakers, managed care organizations and other stakeholders can support the adoption of VBP within behavioral health care.
